Mob fire at activist for intercept trucks of animals

 

People for animals (PFA) group members alleged they were attacked and fired at by a mob late on last Friday night for intercepting several trucks full of animals that was being taken for killing.

Saurabh Gupta from PFA said, in Ghazipur, PFA members and many peoples intercept many trucks headed for killing. In that truck there are several buffaloes packed, there eyes had been gouged out and the buffalos are in the half dead stage. Soon after mob attacked the team and purportedly also fired at them as they left in a vehicle.

Gupta said, "The mob threatened us, saying they would not let anyone harm the butcher trade. When we left in a vehicle, a silver Indica followed us and fired at us".

Provision under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act set down ways of transporting animals. Three persons were arrested and police complaint has been filed for violate the PCA Act, for rioting.
