Big Cats

To distinguish the larger cat species from the smaller cat species the word big cats is used. The tiger, lion, leopard and jaguar are the members of the genus panther. Members of this genus are the cats that are able to roar. The cheetah, snow leopard and cougar are more expansive definition. The term "great cats" is used to distinguish the roaring cats from the big cats.

The cat species is similar in their structure and behavior despite of their massive differences in size. They are carnivorous and predators. The cat species are found in the parts of America, Africa, Asia and Europe
